Bring a natural touch to your home with the Urmston rug, offering style and sustainability. This textured rug uses natural materials to create an exquisite piece. Made with a mix of sisal and jute perfect for a wide range of interiors. This rug has all the qualities for modern living, and is an ideal option for high-traffic areas, perfect for any hallway or kitchen where you want to create a coastal vibe. This plain design is available in a range of tonal neutrals, shown here in a brown colourway, finished with a darker brown border design around all four edges. Available in three sizes. Rotate the rug every 3 months to avoid uneven fading. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight and water as it will fade the colour of the rug. Vacuum often using a low-powered vacuum cleaner, preferably one without a beater brush. Blot liquid spills immediately. Spot clean as needed with a damp white cloth only. Avoid excess water and cleaning products as they could damage or fade the rug. For larger deep stains send the rug to a professional service with experience cleaning natural fibres. To preserve the life of the rug we recommend using a rug pad. Keep away from fire.
Our collection of Handmade, 100% Jute and Sisal rugs are made by hand, each one is unique as such they will have imperfections known as ‘Abrash’ which means natural and variable changes in colour, design, size, pattern, yarn, stitching & texture that occurs in hand made rugs along with natural fiber loss and shedding, rogue mixed colour yarns & loose threads. It gives the rug life and character and ensures you have a unique rug. Similarly, all-natural plant fiber rugs, such as Sisal rugs, embrace their normal irregularities as part of their charm. Variations in weave and shading, for instance, contribute to their distinctive and captivating character, making each natural fiber rug unique. In essence, all-natural grass fiber rugs are beautifully "perfectly imperfect." Synthetic latex backing is one of the biggest culprits in new rug smell, affecting both natural and man-made materials. Many natural rugs, such as Jute and Sisal, are flat-woven, eliminating the need for latex backing. But still natural Plant-based sisal, jute, and seagrass rugs typically start out with a mild, straw-like aroma. If you are particular about uniformity and perfection, a handmade or natural jute/sisal rug might not be for you. In such cases, we recommend machine-made rugs created from synthetic materials for a more standardized appearance.  We caution pet owners to consider a jute rug, as pet claws can result in unwanted snags and pulls. Please note that even if you exchange a rug, the replacement will have its own distinct imperfections and characteristics. Familiarize yourself with our handmade disclaimer in our help centre to ensure you're informed before making a purchase.
