Please note that the Polar range is crafted from an exceptionally soft acrylic yarn, giving it an almost faux fur texture, with a cotton backing. For areas with high foot traffic, we recommend opting for a shaggy rug made from polypropylene with a hessian backing, as it offers more durability and resilience. A great example is our Sierra 9000 collection.

It’s important to mention that the Polar rug is made from a blend of acrylic and polyester, which features finer yarns, resulting in a silky or slightly slippery texture compared to the more supportive feel of polypropylene shaggy rugs. When standing on a Polar rug, the delicate, faux fur-like fibres may allow you to feel the rug's backing underfoot, as it doesn’t offer the same level of cushioning.

🛋️ Plush Shaggy Rug Characteristics
Our plush shaggy rugs have a luxuriously deep pile and natural traits you should expect. Shedding is normal and does not affect durability. High-pile rugs (4 cm and above) will flatten and matt over time. Shaggy rugs may also show sprouting or pilling, where a few strands sit longer than the rest. Simply trim these with sharp scissors (never pull) to keep your rug looking its best. Our hand-tufted shaggy rugs are individually crafted, so small variations in pile, pattern, or tufting are normal.
