As a thick shaggy rug, fibre shedding is completely normal, particularly when new. All high-pile rugs are subject to pile flattening over time, which is not considered a manufacturing fault and is not covered under manufacturer warranty. Rugs with a pile height of 4 cm or more will show the most flattening and matting.

This rug, like other shaggy styles such as Montana, Polar, Sierra 9000, Extravagance, Plush, and Barnaby, may also experience sprouting or pilling, where some strands of the pile appear longer than others. Simply trim these with sharp scissors rather than pulling them out, as pulling can damage the rug. Sprouting and pilling are normal characteristics of high-pile rugs and not considered defects.
