Product Description:
Crafted in India from 93% hand-spun wool and 7% cotton, the Napa Border Rug embodies understated sophistication through its minimalist design and artisanal craftsmanship. Hand-woven by skilled artisans, it highlights the beauty of natural, undyed wool with a soft, looped weave texture that adds warmth and tactility underfoot. The design features a simple tonal field framed by a contrasting Sandstone border, offering a sense of structure while preserving an organic, handcrafted feel. The low 10 mm pile maintains a refined, contemporary look, while the unbacked finish allows the natural flexibility of the weave to show through. Each piece carries subtle variations that celebrate its handmade origin and natural fibre composition.
Natural Beige – The dominant tone, forming a soft and inviting foundation that captures the authentic character of undyed wool.
Sandstone – Used in the outer border, providing gentle definition and earthy contrast while maintaining the neutral balance.
Light Oatmeal – Found throughout the inner field, adding softness and tonal variation across the surface.
Flecked Taupe and Brown Specks – Naturally occurring within the hand-spun wool fibres, enhancing depth and textural richness.
The Napa Border Natural Beige Wool Rug showcases a minimalist bordered design defined by tonal variations of Natural Beige, Sandstone, and Light Oatmeal. Hand-woven from hand-spun wool with a looped low 10 mm pile, it offers both softness and structure, perfectly balancing rustic warmth with modern refinement. Each rug is individually crafted, resulting in natural irregularities that enhance its artisanal appeal. Ideal for Scandi, Japandi, and contemporary interiors, this premium handmade wool rug introduces calm, texture, and timeless elegance to any living space.
🐑 Handmade Wool Rug Characteristics
Our handmade wool rugs are individually crafted, so each one is unique with natural variations known as abrash in colour, size, design, pattern, yarn, stitching, and texture. Shedding is normal and expected with all wool rugs — sometimes lasting for the rug’s entire life — but it does not affect durability. Loose fibres and stray threads can simply be trimmed with scissors (never pulled) to avoid damage. These natural characteristics, along with mixed yarn colours, slight imperfections, and subtle texture differences, add charm and authenticity rather than being faults. Synthetic latex backing may create a temporary smell, and wool may have a natural, earthy scent which fades over time. If you prefer a perfectly uniform look, machine-made synthetic rugs may be more suitable, and any exchange will still have its own unique variations.
