Product Description:
The Maison MSO03 Blue/Ivory Rug blends timeless craftsmanship with serene sophistication. Inspired by Persian Oushak-style artistry, it showcases large-scale palmettes, stylised florals, and leafy vines, beautifully arranged within a classic framed border. Hand-knotted in India from 100% pure wool, this rug features a looped, textured high-low pile with a subtle hand-sheared finish, creating a naturally sculpted surface that accentuates the intricate patterning. The intentionally aged, washed-out colour palette lends a soft vintage charm, while the dense wool pile ensures warmth, durability, and comfort underfoot. Supported by a cotton and latex backing, it’s a true expression of refined, enduring quality.
Soft Blue – Serving as the primary background tone, offering a calm and tranquil base that defines the design.
Ivory – Prominent in the ornate border and floral detailing, adding lightness and balance.
Beige – Blended throughout the motifs, enriching the design with natural warmth and tonal harmony.
Pale Gold – Appearing in select vine and medallion details, infusing the pattern with a gentle glow.
Muted Taupe – Used to outline and anchor the motifs, creating subtle depth and vintage softness.
Dusty Sage – Interwoven through leaves and smaller florals, enhancing the organic, hand-finished look.
The Maison MSO03 Blue/Ivory Rug showcases an elegant Oushak-inspired pattern of large-scale palmettes, stylised florals, and leafy vines, framed by a decorative border and expressed through a palette of Soft Blue, Ivory, Beige, Pale Gold, Muted Taupe, and Dusty Sage. Expertly hand-knotted in India from 100% wool, its looped, textured high-low pile (13 mm) with a hand-sheared finish reveals a naturally sculpted, tactile surface that captures authentic artisan craftsmanship. Reinforced with a cotton-latex backing, this rug’s intentionally aged and washed-out tones evoke an antique character, making it a timeless piece ideal for neutral, classic, or contemporary interiors seeking understated sophistication and comfort.
🐑 Handmade Wool Rug Characteristics
Our handmade wool rugs are individually crafted, so each one is unique with natural variations known as abrash in colour, size, design, pattern, yarn, stitching, and texture. Shedding is normal and expected with all wool rugs — sometimes lasting for the rug’s entire life — but it does not affect durability. Loose fibres and stray threads can simply be trimmed with scissors (never pulled) to avoid damage. These natural characteristics, along with mixed yarn colours, slight imperfections, and subtle texture differences, add charm and authenticity rather than being faults. Synthetic latex backing may create a temporary smell, and wool may have a natural, earthy scent which fades over time. If you prefer a perfectly uniform look, machine-made synthetic rugs may be more suitable, and any exchange will still have its own unique variations.
