Product Description:
The Maison MSO02 Ivory Rug embodies understated luxury with its Oushak-inspired design and softly faded appearance. Hand-knotted in India from 100% pure wool, this rug features a looped, textured high-low pile with a subtle hand-sheared finish, resulting in a naturally sculpted surface that highlights each intricate motif. The design showcases large-scale palmettes, stylised florals, and leafy vines, symmetrically arranged within a classic framed border that enhances its timeless appeal. The intentionally aged, washed-out colour palette gives the rug a refined, antique character, while the thick wool pile offers a cosy, tactile feel underfoot. Supported by a cotton and latex backing, it delivers durability and structure without compromising on artisanal charm.
Ivory – Acting as the primary background shade, it sets a soft, airy tone and brightens the intricate pattern.
Beige – Blended throughout the design, adding warmth and depth to the light ivory base.
Pale Gold – Woven into the central medallions and florals, lending a gentle luminosity and richness.
Soft Blue – Appearing within select floral and vine details, introducing a cool, vintage contrast.
Sage Green – Subtly woven through leaves and borders, enhancing the natural, organic aesthetic.
Dusty Taupe – Found in the shadowed outlines and floral accents, grounding the composition with muted sophistication.
The Maison MSO02 Ivory Rug presents a beautifully balanced Oushak-style floral and vine pattern, framed by an ornate border and expressed through a palette of Ivory, Beige, Pale Gold, Soft Blue, Sage Green, and Dusty Taupe. Crafted in India from 100% hand-knotted wool, it features a looped, textured high-low pile (13 mm) with a hand-sheared finish that creates a naturally sculpted, tactile surface. Reinforced with a cotton-latex backing for stability, this rug combines artisan quality with classic design. Its intentionally aged and washed-out tones evoke a relaxed, vintage feel, making it an elegant addition to both traditional and modern neutral interiors — a timeless statement of craftsmanship and comfort.
🐑 Handmade Wool Rug Characteristics
Our handmade wool rugs are individually crafted, so each one is unique with natural variations known as abrash in colour, size, design, pattern, yarn, stitching, and texture. Shedding is normal and expected with all wool rugs — sometimes lasting for the rug’s entire life — but it does not affect durability. Loose fibres and stray threads can simply be trimmed with scissors (never pulled) to avoid damage. These natural characteristics, along with mixed yarn colours, slight imperfections, and subtle texture differences, add charm and authenticity rather than being faults. Synthetic latex backing may create a temporary smell, and wool may have a natural, earthy scent which fades over time. If you prefer a perfectly uniform look, machine-made synthetic rugs may be more suitable, and any exchange will still have its own unique variations.
