Product Description:
Louis De Poortere Cities Tokyo 9314 Conductive Blue Washable Polyester Flatweave Eco-Rug. Inspired by aerial photographs, this unique design combines a mysterious aesthetic with transparency, evoking the enchanting atmosphere of old maps. “Cities” stands out for its graphic nature, going beyond the simple informational aspect to provide an artistic visual experience. Each city has been carefully selected to represent a distinctive style and atmosphere, creating a unique bond with that city.
Conductive Blue – The dominant shade across the entire design, forming the deep, atmospheric background reminiscent of aerial night photography, adding richness and layered visual depth.
Sky Blue – Visible in brighter map sections and softly lit areas, introducing tonal lift, contrast, and a sense of openness within the design.
Navy Blue – Found in the darker shadowed regions and dense cartographic clusters, strengthening the structure and enhancing dimensionality.
White – Highlighting major urban lines, road networks, divisions, and directional accents, bringing crispness and clarity to the complex map layout.
Off-White / Faded Ice – Appearing in worn, distressed, and eroded patches, contributing to the weathered, vintage cartography feel and softening transitions.
Copper / Rust Orange – Used to pick out finer road lines, intersections, and structural grids, adding warmth, visual rhythm, and movement across the cooler blue palette.
Charcoal Grey – Subtly woven into shadowed or densely textured areas, grounding the design and providing balance across light–dark transitions.
Soft Steel Blue – A refined mid-tone appearing between deeper and lighter sections, smoothing gradients and enhancing the layered map-like effect.
The Louis De Poortere Cities Tokyo 9314 Conductive Blue rug offers a captivating blend of artistic cartography, heritage craftsmanship, and eco-conscious innovation. Richly layered tones of Conductive Blue, Sky Blue, Navy Blue, White, Off-White, Copper, Charcoal Grey, and Soft Steel Blue recreate the depth and movement of Tokyo’s urban landscape viewed from above. Featuring a Jacquard Wilton flatweave, multi-textured distressed detailing, and hand-finished reinforced corners, this rug reflects Louis De Poortere’s century-old weaving mastery. Its 100% mono-material polyester construction, washable design, and fully recyclable eco-rug technology make it a standout choice for modern, design-led interiors seeking a statement piece that balances artistry, durability, and sustainable craftsmanship.
Over a century of skill and craftsmanship is woven into every rug we produce. Woven on Jacquard Wilton looms, each beautiful rug features multiple layers of texture, distressed areas, and intricate stitching detail to give a true vintage look.

When it comes to beautiful products to decorate your home, we understand you desire exceptional quality and a uniquely personal style. We also recognise that the future of the planet is a concern for us all. Our Eco rugs address both issues, offering you an eco-friendly alternative that moves towards circularity without compromising on style.
Enjoy the beauty of your Eco rug, knowing you’re choosing a better future. We’re committed to protecting the environment for future generations, so we’ve crafted a collection that’s more sustainable and sets us on a path to circularity.
With Eco rugs, our Rug Collection 2024 adopts a mono-material polyester construction. This approach allows us to guarantee that our rugs are not only high quality but also fully recyclable. It marks a bold new generation of environmentally friendly rugs that will help to preserve our planet while upholding our philosophy of creating beautiful rugs that bring utmost pleasure.
Every part of our Eco rugs is made from polyester. By creating a 100% mono-material construction, we eliminate the need to separate materials, making it easier to recycle Eco rugs at the end of their lifecycle.
In terms of durability, polyester fibres are stronger and more durable than cotton. In fact, in comparisons of wear, new Eco rugs with a cotton construction showed that cotton wears out three times faster under the same usage.
The use of 100% polyester means a longer lifespan for our rugs and less frequent replacement. Polyester is endlessly recyclable without degradation in quality, giving us the potential to adopt a circular product model in the future.
Recycling polyester allows us to extend the life of the materials we use, reducing the demand for new raw materials.
With our Take Care Program, we offer the best possible experience in caring for your rug, ensuring that it provides you with its maximum lifespan. We're committed to refurbishing or recycling all returned rugs. Our refurbished rugs can find a new home through second-hand sales, and damaged rugs are returned to polyester fibres.
Currently, Eco rugs are made from 100% PET, 20% of which is already recycled material (rPET). Our goal is to reach 100% recycled polyester through the rugs that the Take Care Program brings back.
