The La Playa natural rug will exhibit some variation in shade and tone between batches. To assist you in selecting the right one, we have provided several images and samples from different batches. The shades range from natural tones to more muted, dull matte finishes. If you're looking for a rug with a lighter shade, we recommend the Zander Ivory rug, which offers a more consistent and lighter tone. We do not have any additional images of the La Playa rug beyond what is currently displayed on our website.

La Playa has a mottled beaded pebble surface with a soft, supple, blanket-like construction that is not rigid, allowing for slight stretch and natural movement. It features a very delicate mottled loop pile if one of the loops is pulled, snagged, or caught by pets or heels, it may run. This wool rug will naturally shed fibres and may have visible imperfections or loose threads. As a delicate piece, it is not recommended for high-traffic areas or homes with pets and young children.

Our handmade wool rugs are crafted entirely by hand, meaning each one is truly unique. They feature natural imperfections known as Abrash, which include variations in colour, design, size, pattern, yarn, stitching, and texture. These characteristics including loose threads, mixed colour yarns, and natural fibre shedding give each rug its distinctive charm. Stray fibres can simply be trimmed with scissors; do not pull them, as this may damage the weave.

Shedding is normal and expected in all wool rugs. It is not considered a manufacturing fault. In fact, shedding is a natural feature and does not affect the rug's durability some may shed throughout their lifetime.

If you prefer a uniform and flawless appearance, we recommend machine-made rugs crafted from synthetic materials for a more consistent look. Please be aware that even if you request a replacement, each handmade rug will have its own distinct set of imperfections and character.
