Product Description:
Introducing the Katherine Carnaby Coast CS02 Oyster Rug from the Coast collection – a beautifully simple piece inspired by the calming tones of nature. This designer rug is woven by hand using a luxurious blend of New Zealand wool and viscose, resulting in a soft yet durable texture with a subtle sheen. With its relaxed, organic finish and timeless appeal, the Coast range captures understated elegance perfectly, making it a versatile addition to both contemporary and traditional interiors.
The colours and shades present in this rug include:
Oyster Cream – Serving as the dominant base shade, this light, natural tone creates a soft and airy foundation that brightens the design.
Ivory White – Blended delicately into the weave, lightening sections of the rug and enhancing its natural brightness.
Beige – Interwoven into the yarn, adding warmth and depth to the Oyster base.
Light Taupe – Subtle flecks throughout the weave introduce earthy undertones, grounding the palette with balance and texture.
Warm Sand – Present in the subtle variations of the yarn, providing a natural, organic feel that enriches the neutral composition.
The Katherine Carnaby Coast CS02 Oyster Rug offers a refined neutral palette of Oyster Cream, Ivory White, Beige, Light Taupe, and Warm Sand, creating an elegant yet understated aesthetic. The flatweave construction combines 50% wool and 50% viscose, producing a smooth surface with a gentle sheen and soft tactile feel. Hand-woven in India, this rug embodies artisanal craftsmanship, with tonal variations adding character and dimension. Perfect for living rooms, bedrooms, and elegant dining spaces, its versatile shades complement a wide range of décor styles, from modern minimalism to timeless classic interiors.
🐑 Handmade Wool Rug Characteristics
Our handmade wool rugs are individually crafted, so each one is unique with natural variations known as abrash in colour, size, design, pattern, yarn, stitching, and texture. Shedding is normal and expected with all wool rugs — sometimes lasting for the rug’s entire life — but it does not affect durability. Loose fibres and stray threads can simply be trimmed with scissors (never pulled) to avoid damage. These natural characteristics, along with mixed yarn colours, slight imperfections, and subtle texture differences, add charm and authenticity rather than being faults. Synthetic latex backing may create a temporary smell, and wool may have a natural, earthy scent which fades over time. If you prefer a perfectly uniform look, machine-made synthetic rugs may be more suitable, and any exchange will still have its own unique variations.
