Product Description:
The Hague Modern Plain Geometric Wool Rug in Charcoal Grey brings bold structure and depth to contemporary interiors. Its 3D hand-carved geometric design adds a sense of movement and precision, creating a sculptural statement piece that plays beautifully with shadow and texture. The combination of a loop pile base and cut pile detailing forms a distinct hi-low ridged pattern that enhances the rug’s tactile appeal and visual rhythm.
Each rug is handmade in India from 100% pure wool, offering natural softness, resilience, and exceptional quality. The 10–14mm pile height gives a plush yet supportive feel underfoot, complemented by a cotton and latex backing for lasting stability. The Charcoal Grey tone introduces a deep, smoky elegance — a sophisticated neutral that anchors lighter interiors or complements minimalist, industrial, or monochrome schemes.
Perfect for living rooms, dining areas, or home offices, the Hague Charcoal Grey rug delivers contemporary texture with timeless craftsmanship.
The colour and shade present in this rug include:
Charcoal Grey – A rich, deep grey tone with subtle cool undertones, providing modern contrast and definition while maintaining a refined, neutral aesthetic.
The Hague Charcoal Grey Wool Rug features a loop pile base with a cut pile geometric pattern, hand-carved to create a 3D hi-low ridged texture that captures the interplay of light and shadow. Crafted from 100% wool with a cotton and latex backing, it offers softness, warmth, and durability. The Charcoal Grey shade brings contemporary depth and sophistication, making it ideal for modern interiors seeking understated luxury and strong visual grounding.
Important Note:
We feel that Hague prioritises aesthetics over practicality, as some customers may find the raised ridges slightly uneven underfoot. We recommend choosing the larger sizes — particularly 160 × 230 cm and 200 × 290 cm — to best appreciate the geometric pattern. Smaller rugs may appear more condensed due to the pattern scale.
Design Note:
Each Hague Rug features a non-repeating pattern, meaning that if more than one rug is purchased, the carved line directions and layout may vary slightly. This variation is deliberate and reflects the handmade individuality of each piece.
🐑 Handmade Wool Rug Characteristics
Our handmade wool rugs are individually crafted, so each one is unique with natural variations known as abrash in colour, size, design, pattern, yarn, stitching, and texture. Shedding is normal and expected with all wool rugs — sometimes lasting for the rug’s entire life — but it does not affect durability. Loose fibres and stray threads can simply be trimmed with scissors (never pulled) to avoid damage. These natural characteristics, along with mixed yarn colours, slight imperfections, and subtle texture differences, add charm and authenticity rather than being faults. Synthetic latex backing may create a temporary smell, and wool may have a natural, earthy scent which fades over time. If you prefer a perfectly uniform look, machine-made synthetic rugs may be more suitable, and any exchange will still have its own unique variations.
