Product Description:
The Ascot Rust Rug is a sophisticated blend of modern refinement and timeless craftsmanship, showcasing a striking contrast between its matte wool centre and lustrous viscose border. Hand-woven in India from a luxurious 65% wool and 35% viscose blend, this rug delivers both texture and sheen, making it an elegant choice for living rooms, dining spaces, or bedrooms.
The heavyweight construction provides a dense, durable feel underfoot, while the loop pile wool centre offers subtle texture and warmth. The high-shine viscose border, woven with ultra-fine yarn, catches light beautifully to create a soft metallic shimmer that enhances the rug’s depth and tonal richness.
Rust – The dominant centre tone, offering a deep and earthy burnt-orange hue that adds warmth and character to the space.
Copper – Framing the design in a wide shimmering border, this lustrous metallic shade introduces contrast and elegance, creating a refined, two-tone finish.
The Ascot Modern Plain Hand-Woven Wool Centred Loop Pile Metallic Shimmer Wide Viscose Border Rust Rug combines matte wool texture with a radiant viscose sheen, delivering a balanced mix of comfort, depth, and sophistication. Its warm Rust centre is bordered by a Copper-toned shimmer edge, giving it a luxurious yet understated contemporary feel.
Please note: the viscose border may display slight yarn irregularities due to its delicate hand-finished nature, and shedding of fibres is expected over time. Avoid using a vacuum beater bar on the border to maintain its fine texture.
With its hand-woven construction, heavyweight 3.7 kg/m² density, and 10 mm pile height, Ascot stands out as a premium rug that blends modern simplicity with timeless elegance—a perfect finishing touch for interiors seeking warmth, luxury, and subtle sheen.
🐑 Handmade Wool Rug Characteristics
Our handmade wool rugs are individually crafted, so each one is unique with natural variations known as abrash in colour, size, design, pattern, yarn, stitching, and texture. Shedding is normal and expected with all wool rugs — sometimes lasting for the rug’s entire life — but it does not affect durability. Loose fibres and stray threads can simply be trimmed with scissors (never pulled) to avoid damage. These natural characteristics, along with mixed yarn colours, slight imperfections, and subtle texture differences, add charm and authenticity rather than being faults. Synthetic latex backing may create a temporary smell, and wool may have a natural, earthy scent which fades over time. If you prefer a perfectly uniform look, machine-made synthetic rugs may be more suitable, and any exchange will still have its own unique variations.
