High-pile rugs (4 cm and above) will flatten and matt over time. Shaggy rugs may also show sprouting or pilling, where a few strands sit longer than the rest. Simply trim these with sharp scissors (never pull) to keep your rug looking its best. Our hand-tufted shaggy rugs are individually crafted, so small variations in pile, pattern, or tufting are normal.
